Everyone is going batshit crazy over the new Instagram algorithm, and I'll admit, I was pretty pissed off when I first heard about it too. But I am now so bored of my feed being clogged up with 'turn on my notifications' posts, so I thought I would tell you why I will not be turning on post notifications for your Instagram...
First of all, let's go over some of the key changes to Instagram. The feed will be shifting to a more Facebook like approach, and we shouldn't be too surprised since Facebook own Instagram. I don't mean you'll be bombarded by Candy Crush invites btw, it just means posts will be shown out of chronological order in some cases and feeds will be more tailored to show you what you are likely to be interested in based on your current activity. So if you're worried about missing Harry Styles' black and white photo's or Liam Payne's selfies with Cheryl, you probably won't, because if you're into that then it's likely that you've double tapped, or stalked their profiles enough for Instagram to realise you want to see them. The idea is that we can't be on Instagram all day, so they want to show us the things we like seeing, every time we log on.
