Ten under £10: Volumising Hair Products

Budget volumising hair products | Hair products under £10

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another 'ten under £10' post! This time, I'm focusing on volumising hair products.

As I regularly discuss it on my blog, you will be fully aware that my hair is naturally very fine and flat. Like, it's unbearably flat. So I have to put my trust into several volumising hair products to help give my hair a bit of a lift and here are 10 of my favourites, all for under £10!

Budget volumising hair products | Hair products under £10

1. Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo - £6.49

I've recently reviewed the Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo and it's safe to say it's one of my staple hair products at the moment. I don't tend to wait for my hair to be a little dirty before using it, I just use it all the time to help add volume and give a bit of texture. Works wonders! You can get the 200ml can in Superdrug for £1.97 (usually £3.99) or the 400ml can in Boots for £6.49.

2. COLAB Extra Volume Dry Shampoo Paris - £4.50

Another dry shampoo offering amazing volume is the COLAB Extra Volume Dry Shampoo with the Paris floral fragrance being my favourite. Like the Batiste Dry Shampoo, it gives that little bit of extra volume and texture to give your hair the oomph it doesn't have. Get it from FeelUnique for £4.50.

3. V05 Plump It Up Dry Backcomb Spray - £4.19

This is similar to a dry shampoo, the dry backcomb spray is aimed for direct root application to give the illusion of backcombing, and it really works. I reviewed it wayyyy back in June last year (click here to read) I usually use this when I'm going for a nice big, glam look. You can get it in Superdrug for £4.19.

4. L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray Very Volume Supreme Hold - £6.59

I only recently tried this, purely because of Cheryl (the powers of advertising) and was pleasantly surprised. I don't trust many superhold hairsprays because, essentially, they all tend to be too heavy for my hair and just end up weighing down my 'do rather than giving it a boost, but that's certainly not the case with the L'Oreal Elnett hairspray and I'll definitely be repurchasing. It's in Superdrug for £6.59.

5. Tresemme Hairspray Volume & Lift - £1.79 (usually £2.69)

The secret to keeping good volume is the lift and not only does the Tresemee Hairspray work on holding your style, it also helps to lift it up. I use this all the time and think it's great value for money. Would definitely recommend as a good, light hairspray for those who, like me, have very fine and flat hair! You can get it from Superdrug for £1.79 (usually £2.69).

6. Osmo Extreme Volume Root Lifter - £9.70

A friend recommended this to me when she was bored of hearing about my lifeless, boring hair. (Honestly, I'm sure I go on about it to much!) The Osmo Extreme Volume Root Lifter is really light weight and works only on the roots, trying to give them a bit of a boost so they look much fuller. If you're going for all out, big hair, this isn't necessarily for you. But a bit of everyday extra volume? This is your product! Grab it from FeelUnique for £9.70. (P.S - lasts ages as well!)

7. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Shampoo - £8.99

The key to getting, and keeping, that gorgeous volume, is prepping the hair, and there's no better person to help you out with this, than John Freida. This one is £8.99 from FeelUnique.

8. John Freida Luxurious Volume Thickening Conditioner - 8.99

The matching pair to the above option, the John Freida Luxurious Thickening Conditioner is a must have for me. While my hair desperately needs conditioner, otherwise I can't get a brush through it, I also need one that's not too heavy and going to leave too much weight in my hair. This one doesn't do that at all and I love it! It's also £8.99 from FeelUnique.

9. KMS California AddVolume Shampoo - £9.75

KMS was a brand introduced to me by my hairdresser, but this is the conditioner they used on me last time and I totally loved the way my hair looked and felt afterwards, so it's nice to be able to get that same feeling at home since it's so affordable. Now to work on my salon worthy blow drying skills..! This is just £9.75 from FeelUnique.

10. Aussie Aussome Volume Conditioner - £4.69

I do think that the conditioner you choose really does contribute to how well your hair holds volume, which is why I've included three in my ten under £10 list. The Aussie Aussome Volume Conditioner is another that isn't too heavy on the hair and does help give it a bit of a lift after washing and drying. This is the one I will always go to if I'm not as rich as I'd like and need to spend under £5, rather than under £10. This one is £4.69 from FeelUnique.

So now you can inject some big volume into your hair without breaking the bank! Fancy trying any of these out? Or if you can think of any more, let us all know in the comments!
