Skincare is a hot topic for me at the moment, especially with my recent breakout! I've completely restocked my skincare routine with some amazing new products that have been working wonders on my poorly skin, and these two have been too fabulous not to tell you about.
Pond's Institute is a brand that has been around for a while, and I'm not going to lie, I think my gran uses it, so the teenage me has always skipped past it in the drug store because obviously it's made for older people, right? COMPLETELY WRONG.
Now I've tried out the cold cream cleanser and the eye contour cream, I've been kicking myself for not paying attention sooner. Looks like my Gran knows what she's talking about after all. (Just don't tell her I said so!)
It looks like Pond's has recently undergone a bit of a revamp, because I'm sure they didn't look like this before. The cleansing cold cream pot looks gorgeous on my dresser, and the eye contour cream is now in a little tube, which makes it fab for popping in my handbag or travel bag, and also it helps you moderate how much you are using.
I'll start with the cleansing cold cream. The idea behind this is to apply straight onto your skin, whether your are wearing make up or not, and then you can either remove with cotton wool, or with a warm, damp flannel. I tend to go for the flannel as I just feel a bit more refreshed after doing so, especially in the morning.
The cream itself is actually quite thick, but in the long run I think this is quite a good thing! It's designed to get deep into your skin and remove all traces of stubborn make up, including waterproof mascara, which, I can confirm, it removes without a bother.
What I like about the Pond's institute cold cream is that it doesn't seem to dry my skin out like lots of other deep cleansers do.
Another thing I like is that it can be used as three different products! You can use it as a cleanser, and eye make up remover, or even a face mask!
You can get the Pond's Institute Cold Cream Cleanser from Boots for only £4.99 for a 50ml tub!
Moving on to the Eye Contour Cream. I never really know where to start with eye creams. Part of me doesn't really get what they do, that a normal moisturiser can't. I suppose the ones I've tried, maybe I haven't seen the benefit enough.
The Pond's Institute Eye Contour Cream is stacked with beautiful ingredients such as Vitamin E for hydration, Pro-Vitamin B5 for skin restoration and Jojoba oil and Shea butter to help nourish and calm the skin.
I have been exhausted recently, definitely burning the candle at both ends, and as a result of this, my eyes are looking a little tried and puffy. No amount of make up can truly hide puffy eyes, which I suppose is where a good eye cream comes in!
The Pond's eye cream is quite light and a little bit goes a long way, so you don't need a massive amount!
Within about a week of using it as part of my daily skin care routine, I noticed the skin around my eye area looking a lot calmer, much less dry and I also found that my eye make up was becoming less reliant on my eye primer as the skin was really improving.
You can get the Pond's Institute Eye Contour Cream from Superdrug for £7.99 for a 15ml pot which will last ages!
You have to admit, at £4.99 and £7.99 the cold cream cleanser and eye contour cream are amazing bargains.
Have you tried Pond's Institute before? I'd love to hear your experiences in the comments. And if you haven't, what are you waiting for!?
