I gave the acrylics up a good couple of years ago, but my nails are still quite soft and I need to be very careful with them. I've tried a few nail hardeners and strengtheners before but they tend to only have effect when you are actually wearing the product, I don't think any of the ones I've actually tried have benefited my nails a massive amount.
The Jica Nail Magic hardener is also a nail conditioner, implying that it helps restore some of the goodness that your nails need. Jica are so confident that it is effective in treating thin, splitting, weak and damaged nails in six weeks, that they offer a money back guarantee. So, if they are that confident, I was excited about giving it a go!
I've been applying it as a base coat regularly for the past five weeks. It's quite a thin liquid so doesn't go all gloopy and it has a slight pink tint to it, but still appears clear on the nail. Nail magic does have a bit of that chemically nail varnish smell, but it's certainly not too overpowering. One thing I will say is to be careful if you have any little cuts around your nail; if you manage to get the product in there it's a little painful! Although if you rinse it out, I found it was absolutely fine. Perhaps I just need to be a little more careful!
After a couple of weeks, I noticed my nails becoming a little bit more durable and after the five weeks I've been using it so far, I've definitely been able to grow my nails even more and have noticed they don't break as easily!
I'm definitely going to continue using it. At £10.25 a bottle, Nail Magic might be a tad pricier than other nail hardeners out there, but it clearly works and I'm really pleased with the results so far!
