Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette Dia de los Muertos Review and Swatches*

Makeup Revolution - Dia de los Muertos Eyeshadow Palette

In case you hadn't realised, I love a bargain when it comes to makeup, and that bargain is made even better when the actual product is everything you wanted it to be and more. Makeup Revolution is currently one of my favourite brands. They are such great value for money, and their products are amazing. I've just reviewed their Acid Brights Palette and now is the turn of the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette Dia de los Muertos.

For a start, I love the design on the packaging. Usually I just throw away boxes that palettes come in, because they end up being a little bit of a hassle, but I'm keeping this one because I love the design! The actual palette case is a smooth and shiny black case, which is really sleek.

Salvation Dia De Los Meurtos actualy translates to 'Day of the Dead' which is a holiday mainly celebrated in Mexico, but also in a few other countries. Sounds a bit grim, but I think the idea behind it is that they celebrate loved ones who have passed by honouring them with sugar skulls, hence the sugar skull design on the box!

Makeup Revolution's description invites you to 'experiment or die'; errr, I'll take experimenting then! It also says to live every day as your last, accompanied by the hashtag, #diebeautiful.

Inside, there is a lovely, large mirror, a soft sponge applicator and 18 beautiful eyeshadows; 12 shimmer shades (in the rectangle spaces) and 6 matte ones (in the round spaces).

First impressions of the colours are that I think the lighter, more neutral shimmer shades will be lovely to create subtle but glamorous daytime looks and then the deeper shimmer colours can be added to swiftly change a neutral look into a gorgeous night time one.

I've attempted to swatch the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette Dia de los Muertos shades on my arm in the same order that they are in the palette. Some of the shades are a little difficult to photograph, but hopefully you can see what they are like:

One thing I definitely noticed is that they are quite soft, which makes them easy to apply to your applicator brush, but always tap off any excess before applying, otherwise you will end up with quite a bit of fallen product. Eye shadow sprinkled halfway down your face is never a good look.

On the other hand, the softness allows you to build up the colour as little, or as much as you would like.

The Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette Dia de los Muertos is only £6.00, which is an absolute bargain! All of their palettes are equally great quality, and equally great prices!

If you haven't already, you need to check out Makeup Revolution. Why not tell me what you love about this palette, or which products you've got your eye on, in the comments?!
