Seventeen Sailor Boy Nail Polish Review

Seventeen Sailor Boy nail varnish

Regular readers of my blog will know that I'm a sucker for any kind of nail art or nail colours, you can tell by the abundance of nail posts that crop up quite regularly so I thought I'd add another one to my collection!

This time, I went for a range that I have never bought a nail colour from; SEVENTEEN by Boots.

The SEVENTEEN range has a decent range of colours, ranging from their fast finish, lasting finish and a good selection of nail effect polishes.

Recently, I've found that I've had less and less time to spend painting my nails, so I need something that's going to be pretty quick drying and not going to start smudging all over the place an hour after I've finished applying. I went for the 'Quicker, slicker colour' range and picked the 'Sailor Boy' blue.

Seventeen says
"Single coat, high shine nail colour, touch dry in under 50 seconds."

The polish itself is a great consistency. It's not too runny, nor is is too thick, meaning that it's grasped the balance and I shouldn't be dripping it all over the place or end up applying a coat that is far too thick.

The applicator is a reasonable wide brush but also quite flat. I am completely over the standard rounded brushes, as I've always found the wider, flatter ones seem to give better coverage and are so much easier to use.

The brush really makes applying this nail varnish a really simple task. One sweep across the nail gives almost complete coverage, that only requires a tiny touch up around the edges to make sure you've got the entire nail.

Finish

The SEVENTEEN Sailor Boy nail varnish leaves a super shiny finish and dries as quickly as it says. Within a minute, my nails were ready for me to get up and go!

I found that the colour is at it's best and most intense when you apply two coats, but if you were in a huge rush, one coat does give a lovely finish as well.

Completed with a top coat, this polish gave me at least 3-4 days without chipping, which seems to match up to the rest of my polishes. I've actually only found a couple of nail varnishes that can beat this!

Where can you buy it?

An 8ml pot of SEVENTEEN Quicker Slicker Colour is an absolute bargain for £2.99 in Boots and they have 25 shades for you to choose from, which isn't too bad! There's even a 3 for 2 offer on Seventeen products at the moment, so you can get 3 shades for less that £6!

What do you think of the SEVENTEEN Sailor Boy shade? Have you tried any other of their colours?

  1. I have so many of the 17 products and I think their mascaras are excellent. I did receive some of their polishes in a Christmas set but found them to be a real disappointment. That was a couple of years ago though and after reading your blog I may try some more.
