I have the most combination skin of anyone I know. My forehead can be super dry (like REALLY dry) and then I get really oily patches across my cheeks, nose and chin and no matter how hard I try, my skin is really prone to blemishes. I am constantly looking for the best foundation for combination skin. I need something with a thicker consistency and a matte finish, which is why I liked Rimmel's Stay Matte Liquid Mousse foundation. I'm not particularly brand loyal as I love trying out different things, so when I came across the SEVENTEEN Miracle Matte foundation, offering shine control and a matte satin finish, I couldn't help but swipe it from the shelf!
Without further ado, let's crack on with another foundation review.
"Get flawless mattified skin all day! Shine free for up to 16 hours and total even coverage with SEVENTEEN Miracle Matte Foundation."
You can see from the swatch that this foundation is quite thick. I wasn't phased by this though, as essentially this is what I am after. The only thing I want to avoid is that clogged up feeling on your skin which is not ideal for any makeup to give you.
I bought the natural shade, which I actually thought would be a bit dark, but it seemed like a good match for my pasty skin. There are a few lighter shades as well so it seems the the range is a good foundation for pale skin.
I started by applying this with a foundation brush. Tip of the day: don't do that. It didn't blend very well and I found it dried quite quickly, leaving it patchy.
I started again, this time using a makeup sponge rather than a foundation brush and that seemed much easier to work with. It was blendable and not too thick. One pump is more than enough to give full coverage.
Seventeen Miracle Matte is a good, full coverage foundation. It does beef itself up as a long-lasting foundation, however I wouldn't say it lasts 16 hours. By halfway through the afternoon, I felt like I could have done with a top up. This could just be my skin though, as it likes to force any makeup off as quick as it can! For all of you with better skin than mine, you may find different.
The finish is matte and once it's blended properly, covers my blemishes and evens my skin tone without the need for concealer which is lovely!
Value for money
Similar to the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation, the SEVENTEEN Miracle Matte foundation is only £5.99 in Boots, and is actually currently on a 3 for 2 offer!
