Here's another review of one of the gorgeous MUA Cosmetics palettes I am giving away in my January competiton! The MUA Cosmetics Luxe range is a selection of slightly more luxurious and glamourous products, with the same MUA price tag attached, which is such a treat! I have previously reviewed the MUA Heaven and Earth palette and the Undress Me Too palette, but I've never tried one of their Luxe palettes! The MUA Luxe Glitter Palette in Burlesque contains 4 super glittery, gel-based eyeshadows in gold, bronze, pink and silver.
'Four dazzling complimentary shades in a smooth, gel-based glitter forumla. Mix shades together for a dramatic multi-tone effect, or choose one colour for the base of the eyelid and apply a darker shade along the lashline for a super sparkly finish.'
I won't lie to you, these gel eyeshadows are slightly more difficult to apply than a normal shadow, however, leaps and bounds easier than using the loose glitter shadows I have tried before! You do need a fair bit of the product to get and intense glitter look, but one layer gives a subtle sparkle, which is also really nice.
I do really like the look of these glitter shadows when they are on. I would recommend allowing them a minute or so to dry once they are on and also using an eye primer in order to hold the gel in place and reduce creasing.
As with the other MUA palettes, this one also comes with a double ended sponge applicator, which is great for applying the gel. Although, in theory I would assume applying with a brush would work better due to the consitency, that actually isn't the case. I got much more even coverage using the brush they provided.
Again, the packaging is similar to other MUA palettes, although smaller than the 12 shadow palettes I have reviewed before. This mini palette also has the sleek, black packaging with the clear window to see the colours and is slimline and compact enough to pop into your makeup bag for travelling. Perfect.
Quality and value for money
This palette is £4, which is great value for money, considering it is part of their deluxe range. The colours are fantastic and the shadow is great quality. Again, another triumph for MUA!
So if you want to sparkle and shine, make sure you take a look at the MUA Glitter Luxe palettes (they also do 'Twilight and Diva' glitter palettes with different colours, well worth checking out).
