Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix Body Butter Review

Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix Body Butter

Another April Glossybox product review for you my lovelies! This time is is the Nip+Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix Body Butter.

The sample I received was a decent size 50ml pot which is always lovely from Glossybox! I'm always a fan of a body butter, I find the skin on my legs especially can get quite dry, so a body butter is very useful for smoothing them out, especially before tanning etc.

Yves Rocher So Elixer Purple Review

Yves Rocher - So Elixer Purple

I don't really do fragrance reviews as no matter how good with words you are, it can be difficult to really portray what it smells like. However, when I received the Yves Rocher So Elixer Purple fragrance in my April Glossybox, I couldn't wait to tell you about it!

My sample was a small 5ml bottle, but even in it's tiny form, the bottle was lovely. Very smooth and sleek!

Essie Good Morning Hope Nail Colour Review

Essie Good Morning Hope Nail Colour Review

As you will have seen in my April Glossybox post, I received a lovely full size Essie Good Morning Hope Nail Colour.

I do already have quite a few nail varnishes in pinks and quite a few pale pinks so I really have to like the colour for it to actually make it into my selection.

This pastal shade of baby pink is very girly and definitely great for Spring, which finally seems like it is arriving!

The finish does have a slight shine to it, but I would add a top coat for that real 'finished' look.

April Glossybox

April Glossybox

It's that time of the month again where I receive my Glossybox packed with treats! If I'm honest, I was slightly worried about this one as I had seen lots of tweets and reviews and hearing people had been a little disappointed with the contents of their box! Despite that, i was still a little excited when it was delivered!

The theme of this months box is Spring Fever! As well as this, the limited edition box itself has been designed by designer Pearl Lowe.

Quest to a gorgeous beach body & 30 day squat challenge!

This post series is a pretty brave one for me! I don't feature much fitness or lifestyle, but I thought I would give it a go! Basically, I am beginning my journey to the perfect beach body for summer and I wanted to track my progress and share it with you guys.

This mission is NOT about me losing weight at all, I want to avoid the whole scenario with comments from people saying I don't need to lose weight. I understand that at a size 8, I am not fat. What I really want to work on is toning stomach, legs and bum!

There will be none of that "I've lost XX pounds" or whatever. I am working on toning my body and maintaining my weight as it is and hoping to share any tips and tricks that you can try as well!

Boots No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour Review

No 7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour ReviewsToday's review is a colourful one, featuring two nail varnishes! From the Boots No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour collection; Jammy and Foxglove.

I have tons and tons of nail varnishes, of all different brands and colours and sometimes it is hard to pick a fave colour, it always changes!

I really like these to colours though, the Jammy pink is quite deep and pearlescent, and the Foxglove purple is quite bold and very shiny.

They are quite glam colours, I would probably choose them for a night our or similar occasion. Having said that, I do like bold colours to brighten up a dull coloured outfit!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Review

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Review Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Review

I love skincare products and write about them quite a lot, so I was excited when I found a lovely little sample of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.

I had heard great things about this range, but never tried it myself. I think perhaps because I had thought it might have been a little out of my price range, but I hadn't really looked into it.

The cream says it is fragrance free, however it does have a slight scent to it. Nothing untoward or very strong, in face it is quite nice, although I have been struggling to pinpoint something to compare it to!

My usual choice of skincare products would be something that is a light consistency and when I first had a look at the product I thought it was quite the opposite. With this in mind, I decided to try it as a hand cream to begin with and avoid using it on my face until I was sure about it.

Garnier Moisture Match Review

Garnier moisture match reviews
If you regularly read my blog, by now you will know that I am literally obsessed with skincare products and if the opportunity to try a new one out crops up then I will most definitely jump at the chance! I had noticed that Garnier were bringing out a new range of moisturisers and were offerings free samples online, so I jumped at the chance to try out the Garnier Moisture Match range.

The Moisture Match range has 5 different moisturisers;
  • Protect & Glow for Normal Skin
  • Start Afresh for Normal/Dry Skin
  • Shine Be Gone for Combi/Oily Skin
  • Wake Me Up for Dull Skin
  • Goodbye Dry for Dry Skin
The range boasts moisturisers tailored to match specific skin needs, which sounds great! not only this, but all of the moisturisers are suitable for sensitive skin which is an added bonus.

The three samples I received were Protect & Glow, Wake Me Up & Shine Be Gone. My skin has dull patches, oily patches and parts I would consider normal, it's a nightmare finding the right moisturiser that can cater for all 3 things. Perhaps one of this range would do the trick!

Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser - Protect and Glow
The Protect & Glow is designed for Normal Skin. It contains SPF20, which I always look out for in a moisturiser, but what I really liked about this one was the smell! There was a very slight, not too overpowering, summery lemon smell which was gorgeous!

The moisturiser itself was quite thick in comparison to skin products I usually use. Because of this I applied slightly less than my normal amount.

My skin was definitely well hydrated for the rest of the day, even underneath my make up. In the more oily parts of my skin there was a slight shine which, personally, I am not a fan of but I don't think it was too visible. Certainly nothing a bit of powder couldn't sort out.

I liked the smell and the feel of this moisturiser, but it wasn't quite right for me :(

Secondly, I tried the Wake Me Up for Dull Skin.

Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser - Wake Me Up
This one was more like a gel in consistency. I found this a bit strange, but I had never used a skin product that was like a gel, apart from a face mask!
This moisturiser also has a citrus smell to it, which definitely did wake me up!

The gel did feel quite nice on the skin, although took a while to soak in compared to a cream. As a base for my make up, this moisturiser made my skin very even which resulted in great coverage.

I will agree that my skin did look fresh and clear but again, this didn't react very well with the oily parts of my skin and my make up began to 'slide off' these parts as the day went on.

So again, this one wasn't right for me :(

Perhaps I would have more luck with my third sample, which was Shine Be Gone for Combination/Oily Skin.

Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser - Shine Be Gone
This sounded right up my street as it would work well across my whole face, and not just on certain areas.

This cream is very light and contains no oil which is great. It contains Green Tea and Mannose which provides quite a relaxing and chilled out smell. It was absolutely beautiful!

I absolutely fell in love with this one. My skin was completely matte after allowing it to soak in, no shiny parts at all, and this continued throughout the day. The light cream felt lovely on my skin and soaked in really quickly.

Out of the three samples I received this was most definitely the perfect match for my skin and I plan pop out and purchase the full product to use as part of my daily skincare routine.

Have you tried any of the Garnier Moisture Match range? Which one worked for you?

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush in Cranberry Review

Jelly Pong Pong Lip BlushJelly Pong Pong Lip Blush

I've already got an abundance of lipglosses and lipsticks, but I've never tried anything like the Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush and I've not actually tried anything from the Jelly Pong Pong range, so this was exciting.

The shade I have is Cranberry, which is quite dark, never really a shade that I would normally pick for myself. I feel much safer with a nude lip.

L'Occitane Brightening Hand Care Cream Review

L'Occitane Brightening Hand Care CreamL'Occitane Brightening Hand Care Cream

I've never tried out any L'Occitane products, so I was looking forward to trying out the L'Occitane Brightening Hand Care Cream and thought I would let you all know what I thought about it!

The packaging is no different to any other hand cream. A small, squeezy tube with a screw on lid, so nothing really to report there! It is handbag handy though, so that's always a plus!

Maybelline New York Fit Me Pressed Powder Review

Maybelline New York Fit Me Pressed Powder

Having combination/oily skin, I always feel the need to have a compact powder to hand and my recent favourite is the Maybelline New York Fit Me Pressed Powder.

I tend to use a liquid or mousse foundation in the morning, finished with a powder, and keep the powder on me all day just in case that shine decides to come through again. I don’t usually experiment with my daily use products as I feel quite safe with the ones I currently use, however I love Maybelline products and recently decided to try their New York Fit Me Pressed Powder which I bought from Superdrug for £5.99.

Why is skincare so important?

The importance of skincare

I love reviewing skincare products and my collection is probably borderline obsessive. A good skin care routine is vital and not just to look good, taking good care of your skin can improve your overall health. It’s not just about your face, I’m talking every inch of skin on your body. But why is skincare so important?

There is probably a lot about the skin you don’t know, but you really should in order to understand how important it is to take care of it.

Mini French Manicure Tutorial

Mini French Manicure tutorial

I spend hours trying to perfect a french manicure on myself! On others I seem to be able to do it absolutely fine, but I struggle to get the same look when painting my own nails and I'm sure I am not alone so I decided to create a Mini French Manicure tutorial.

To start with, lets take a look at what I think are the essentials for a mini French manicure:
  1. Nail file
  2. Cuticle stick
  3. Base Coat
  4. Top Coat
  5. White tip polish
  6. Pink french polish
  7. Nail stencils
  8. Cuticle Massage Cream
I am using Colour Couture base coat, cuticle wood stick and nail stencils and an Elegant Touch french manicure set, Superdrug nail file and Professional Products cuticle massage cream by Ellisons.

Renu Flash Relax Face Mask Review

Renu Flash Relax Face Mask

I received the Renu Flash Relax Face Mask in my March glossy box delivery. I was quite pleased as I haven’t actually used a face mask for a while, so took the prime opportunity to run myself a lush bubble bath and take some time to relax with this product.

The mask boasts the ability to give an ‘instant face-lift effect’ so let’s see how it faired.I was slightly less enthused when I read that it was for ‘mature skin’. Being only 24, I had wondered what Glossy Box were trying to tell me...

Despite this, I was still going to give it a go!

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Black Gel Eyeliner Review

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Black Gel Eyeliner

I bought Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Black Gel Eyeliner about a month ago and just haven't got round to uploading my review about it, so here it is at last!

I am a big fan of eye cosmetics and have tons of different liquid liners, pencil liners, mascaras, eye shadows etc etc and use a big combination of these every day. I have been looking for a good and reasonably priced gel liner to add to my collection for a while, which is what prompted me to buy this one.

The pack contains a small pot (2.8g) of black gel eyeliner and a specially designed application brush. The pot itself is really cute and I absolutely love it.

New York Color Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer Review

New York Color Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer

Primers are developed to help improve the appearance of skin by providing a protective layer to apply your foundation to and I've decided to add the New York Color Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer to my collection!

Adding a primer to your daily make up routine won't add too much time, but could help give your make up staying power as well as protect your skin. I would highly recommend trying one out, especially if you wear make up every day.

I decided to try out New York Color (NYC) Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer from Superdrug for just £3.49, to see how well it worked. Considering the price and having never tried an NYC product before I wasn't sure how well it would fair, but thought it was worth giving it a go.

To start with, the tube is quite small, perfect to carry around with you in your handbag and certainly won't take up too much space in your existing make up bag.

HD Brows are amazing!

HD brows treatmentHD brows are the latest celebrity craze and I decided to jump on the bandwagon and see what all the fuss is about.

HD brows is a 7 step treatment using a mixture of methods including tinting, plucking, waxing and threading to achieve the a perfectly defined brow.

Loads of celebs are having the HD brow treatment done, including The Saturdays, Bianca Gasgoisne, Little Mix and Jenny Frost. Even Duncan James and Simon Webbe have been joining in the fun!

I decided to see whether it really worked, or whether it was only going to work for celebs who had someone preening them every day!

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift BB Cream Review

L'Oreal Revitalift BB cream

So I haven't managed to find a BB cream that I really love and will actually stick with. My friend managed to get hold of a few samples of different ones so I can see what I like best! The first one I have decided to try was L'Oreal Revitalift BB cream. I tried the medium shade .

The product is what you would expect of a BB cream, slightly resembling a foundation but a lighter consistency.

MUA Undress Me Too Eye Palette

Almost Red No7 High Shine Lipgloss Review

Red lips are a massive spring trend. Paired with a nude eye and the perfect pastel spring outfit, a red pout can give massive impact. You may have recently seen my review of Jelly Pong Pong red lip stain which gave a lovely matte, long-lasting finish. I wanted to find a lip gloss that had the same high impact look, but with a bit of gloss and glamour that would be perfect for a night out, so I decided to try out Boots No7 High Shine Lipgloss in Almost Red.
