Alphabet Challenge - Z - Zebra & Pink Nail art tutorial
So I have finally made it to the final post in my alphabet challenge blog series, and what better way to end than with a cute nail design?! Here is my Zebra and Pink Nail Art Tutorial.
Here's what you will need for this nail art:
Black nail polish [I am using Rimmel Lasting Finish - Black Cab]
Pink nail polish (or whatever colour you want!) [I am using Rimmel Lasting Finish - Strawberry Fizz]
White nail polish [I am using Colour Couture White]
Nail Dotting Tool [I am using the Nail Dotting Tool from Sparkly Nails]
If you don't have a nail dotting tool, then you can substitute this for a thin striping brush or just a toothpick!
Start by applying a couple of coats of your white polish to create a smooth base!
Once the white polish is dry, take the pink (or whichever colour you have chosen) and paint a diagonal line across the nail. Fill in one half with the colour creating the following effect:
Once again, make sure you wait for the colours to dry before carrying on!
Now for the artistic bit! Take your nail dotting tool, striping brush or toothpick and dip into the black nail varnish.
To begin with, I found it easiest to find images of zebra print and try to copy the ways the lines fell or the patterns they made. But you can also just go with the flow!
Remember to only draw your zebra lines on the white section!
Once you are happy with your zebra lines, draw a black link diagonally where the pink and white sections meet!
Finally, let the design dry completely and apply your top coat! If you don't let it dry you will end up dragging the colours all over each other and ending up with a bit of a mess rather than a funk nail art design!
And there you have a nail art design that is sure to get people talking!
Let me know if you have a go at this, I'd love to see your links in the comments below, or you can tweet me your pictures to @Dollfaceemmy!
