I’ve been meaning to do a post like this for a while now, but now MoneySupermarket have given me a little bit of an incentive with their exciting little blogger competition! Simple as, write a post about what’s in your handbag and be in with the chance of winning a Mulberry bag.
Yes, you heard me right.
So, this will be a pretty picture heavy post. Hope you don’t mind!
This is my handbag:
It’s Paul’s Boutique (obviously...) Tilly Twister in Black - £65
Now I usually get asked, “What’s in your handbag?!” quite a lot, but maybe it’s to do with the size... I’m a massive fan of the oversized handbag, and I’m only little myself, so people always wonder what on earth I am carrying around with me!
In all honesty, the bag is half empty, although it does come in handy when I’ve bought a loaf of bread from the shop, or need to take my lunch to work with me, as there is plenty of space!
Here are the actual contents of my handbag...
So as you can see, it’s not much considering the size of my bag.
Essie nail polish, L’Occitane hand cream, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream, Yves Rocher So Elixer perfume sample, Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara.
If you follow my blog, you will notice that all of these products have cropped up in my Glossybox posts over the past few months, so these are all Glossybox samples! As there are enough to warrant a full Glossybox here, I’ll price these at the same price as the box+delivery, although perhaps they are worth a bit more individually...
Total cost of these items: £12.95
Oh yes, more make up! Ted Baker compact mirror, Sally Hansen Nail & Cuticle Oil, Maybelline FIT Me compact powder, MUA bronzer, 17 black eyeliner, Ted Baker body spray, L’Oreal Glam Shine Stain (Princess), Maybelline Super Stay 24hr concealer, Bloom powder brush & handmade silk makeup bag.
The makeup bag was made for me as a gift from a lovely friend and I absolutely love it!
Total cost of these items: £45.97
iPhone 4s white + headphones, (Unfortunately) Immitation Louis Vuitton Purse, Natwest 16-25 railcard
A few staples that I always have with me!
Unfortunately the purse is not real Louis Vuitton, but I loved the colour so much when I saw it that I had to have it. The Natwest railcard is a part of my bank account (hooray!) so doesn’t cost me anything, although is actually worth about £28. And of course, the iPhone, which I would be lost without!
Total cost of these items: £478
Studio 123 specs that live inside my gorgeous pug glasses case, and my New Look sunnies, specifically bought for driving, so stay in my handbag just in case the sun makes an appearance!
Total cost of these items: £230
And that’s it, so it doesn’t really seem like a lot at all. Obviously, this is minus the receipts and bits and bobs that always end up at the bottom of a hand bag... That’s always an enlightening moment when you empty out your bag, I don’t half carry round some rubbish!
Now for the total cost of what’s in my handbag (including the bag itself...)
Actually, I have just entirely shocked myself... That is a ridiculous amount of money to be carrying over my shoulder all day! I certainly wouldn’t have valued the make-up bits and bobs as highly as they have come up. That’s a bit of an eye opener!
The only thing not included in these pictures is my keys. In all honesty, I’m not sure where they are right now... Probably in a coat pocket somewhere!
I might even think twice about leaving my bag on my seat at the pub while I pop to the loo in future, someone is in for a treat if they pinch my bag!
I bet if you took a look into your handbag, you would surprise yourself with the worth of what you carry around all day!
