Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser Review

Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser

I’ve tried out a few Monu Professional Skincare products before, and I have never been disappointed with any aspect of it. I received this sample in my June Glossybox and it is one of the only products I felt matched the summer theme of the box. A hydrating moisturiser with a SPF is certainly a must have for summer!

When I’m looking at reviewing skincare products, I always try to relate my experiences with the product description on the packaging. This bottle says: “Formulated to prevent sun damage and premature ageing. Containing soft focus technology, it blurs imperfections and corrects skin tone.”

Sounds promising!
Before I get to the Monu Professional Skincare Hydrating Moisturiser itself, I will say I really like the packaging. I have a real issue with moisturiser packaging as if the bottle isn’t clear, it can become difficult to work out how much you have left. I really like the clear bottle, along with the silver text. It looks classy and elegant (and I know how much is in there!). The sample bottle is a screw top, which does make it quite difficult to squeeze out the right amount, but I think the full sized product is actually a pump, which I much prefer.

Onto the cream itself, when you have it in your hands, it does feel quite thick and I was a bit wary of this as I don’t like a moisturiser to feel too thick on my face. Surprisingly, once you begin to rub the cream in, it spreads into a lovely, thin covering, and you really don’t need much at all! It also soaks into your skin quite quickly and leaves you with a lovely little glow. I will agree that it certainly does hydrate the skin. After a couple of days I began to notice the dry areas of my skin certainly looking much better and after just over a week, they are barely noticeable at all!

Once it has soaked in, it becomes a really great base for makeup. There is no greasy film causing products to slip off and it holds my foundation firm in place. In terms of the soft focus to blur imperfections, I’m not sure whether this was working, or that the cream helped my foundation last longer, but my blemishes were less noticeable during the day.

The moisturiser is scented, but it’s not an unnatural scent, and is certainly not over powering. It’s very similar to the scent you would usually find with Monu products, and I actually quite like it!

Overall, I really rate this moisturiser, just as I do all of the other Monu products I have reviewed!

A 50ml bottle of the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser is £28.95, which is slightly more expensive than your average high street brand moisturiser, but I really would suggest investing, especially if you do suffer from dry skin and want to keep it looking as healthy as possible throughout the summer.

  1. I prefer natural products. I like the quality of it, moisturizer is scented, but it’s not an unnatural scent, and is certainly not over powering. How is it for oily skin?

    1. It's not too bad. I have some parts of my skin that are oily and it didn't make them extra greasy or visible at all. An all round good little moisturiser I think!
