Volume Boosting Hair Products

Volume boosting hair products

I suffer from having really fine and limp hair, so I need to have an abundance of products to get some body back into it. It's taken me a while to get it right, but I have finally found a routine that works for me, so I thought I would share my favourite volume boosting hair products with you!

So, which hair products have I been using?

Schwarzkopf Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray
Fat Hair ‘0’ Calories Thickening Creme
Fat Hair ‘0’ Calories Root Lifter Spray
Ojon Revitalizing Flexible Hairspray

Schwarzkopf Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protection Spray

After washing my hair, spray quite a generous coating of the Scwarzkopf Got2B heat protection spray as I will be blow drying and straightening and want to try to protect my hair as much as possible.

While it is still wet, I take a small amount of FAT Hair thickening crème and rub it between my hands. I then tip my head upside down and comb my hands through my hair, trying to get an even distribution of the crème all over. I love this crème, it really does add a thickness to the hair and doesn’t leave it looking greasy or gross at all, it looks shiny and feels soft and lovely. After brushing out any knots, I then start to blowdry.

I start with a quick hot blast of the hair, and finish the rest by sectioning. Each time I section, I apply FAT Hair root lifter spray to the roots of the section I am working on, then try to alternate between blasts of cold and hot air. I try to blow dry from underneath to give my hair a lift, or make use of a large round headed brush.

Once my hair is completely dry I will move on to straightening. Sometimes I will leave an hour or so in between blowdrying and straightening, just to be sure that the hair is completely dry.

Again, I straighten my hair in sections. This time, I will apply a very small amount of hair Ojon hairspray underneath the hair and at the roots. I comb this through to the ends and then tease the hair slightly at the roots. I continue this process for each section of hair I straighten.

Finally, I brush over the top to try to get rid of any obvious separations from the teasing and blast the Ojon hairspray all over.

And that’s all there is too it. I then am rocking some lovely volume for the rest of the day!

I must stress, I don’t do this every day, I think that might be a bit too much heat and product and I don’t know how well my hair would handle that!

Are there any products you use to give yourself full-bodied hair? Do they work?

  1. I have the same problem. I tried so many products but none them really helped. Usually I got volume like for an hour or so but that was it. I'll try your routine to see if it fits my hair too. Thanks for your tips :)
